I am from the Youngstown, Ohio area having graduated from Y.S.U. in 1982. I did my student teaching at East High in Youngstown for about  a year, and then taught for two years in the inner city in Pasadena California. I met my wife, Janett Miriam Garcia, in California and was fortunate that she and I became husband and wife.  We then proceeded to move to Delaware, Ohio.

I have taught seventh grade social studies for the last 25 years here at Olentangy. I have been very involved with the social studies department, having served for years as middle school department chair as well as the district social studies department coordinator for a number of years previously. I have been collecting historical memorabilia dealing with political, social, and military history since 1971. It was the active involvement with this hobby as well as the appreciation of history that I acquired from my father, which led to my desire to become a social studies teacher. I try to put on various displays of actual historic artifacts from my collection during Veteran's Day and Black History Month. I will also bring in my son's collection dealing with 9-11-01 and the War on Terrorism. It includes actual historic artifacts from Desert Storm/Desert Shield, 9-11-01, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the War on terrorism over the last 30 years.

On a personal level, I really enjoy teaching as well as hunting and biking. I am involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes which will probably be meeting every Friday morning. Other teachers are involved as well, including Mr Mills and Mr. Nafzinger.

I have three children.  My youngest is Audrey and a freshman at Delaware City Schools.  She keeps me busy overseeing her homework progress and musical/sporting activities keep us very busy as a family. She enjoys taking pictures of my bird dog Max.

My oldest daughter graduated from Bowling Green State university and is working for Americorp and helping tutor migrant workers in the Toledo area.

My son Raymond is playing cello at Kent State university and hopes to be a music teacher when he graduates.  He too enjoys hunting and running and swimming.
